The Nutmeg State

We took a trip to CT last week to coincide with a business function I attended in NYC. The rain kept us from our beach outing but we did have lots of fun with friends and family.

Working from the road can be stressful, so I was lucky Graham was willing to shoulder part of the load. At the end of the day, he was glad to kick back and relax with Dean.

Friday afternoon we headed to our favorite coloring spot AKA the Penzeys Spice Store. Any store that has a bucket of crayons is a great place to shop in my book.

Friday night we had a delicious dinner with the Strolin clan. Rachael's driving simulator was a big hit.

Graham was also mesmerized by Devin, Michelle and Kieran's Guitar Hero skills ...and the way Grandma played peek-a-boo.

Saturday we had a lovely breakfast with the Coffin twins (Maya, left and Ella, right). Alecia pointed out we first met them at 8 weeks, and now they're 8 months old! Sitting up, jabbering, and Maya is just about ready to crawl... watch out world, here they come (and so cute, too)!

When it was time to check out, Graham was happy to lend a hand and get the baggage into the car.

We made one last stop at Uncle Cookie's house for a quick storytime.

Man, he's a funny reader. Don't believe me? Check out the video for yourself.

And finally we drove through the Catskills on our way home.

It was a beautiful day for a road trip. Thanks to everyone who hosted us. See you again soon!

  1. I love his "working" mode. Too cute. what a multi-tasker!
